Marjorie C. Bailey

BLUEFIELD -- Marjorie C. Bailey, 91, of Bluefield, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003 in a Bluefield Regional Hospital.

Born Oct. 11, 1912 in Grundy, Va., she was the daughter of the late Bittle King and Mary Davis Croye. Mrs. Bailey was a homemaker and a member of Edgemont Baptist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher in the primary department at First Baptist Church for many years and in an adult women's class at Edgemont Baptist Church for several years. Her special interests included cooking, decorating, and flower gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jonathan Ray Bailey; two sisters, Marie Goodwin and Geneva Mustard; and one brother, B. Kyle Croye.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet R. Garrett and husband, Richard of Lady Lake, Fla., and Mary E. Bell and husband, Charles of Bluefield; four granddaughters, Amy Bowman of Greensboro, N.C., Jennifer Price of Atlanta, Ga., Lisa Friedman of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Laura Easley of Atlanta; one grandson, Dr. Jonathan Grim of Bristol, Tenn., and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel located in Princeton with the Rev. Ken Owens officiating.

There will be no visitation.
